Within 4 or 5 blocks is Galvez
Landing which has a boat ramp
where you can put your
boat or jet ski into the water for free. If you get
hungry while you are there, you can eat at
Hub
Stacey’s or
even go there for an evening drink after a day of fun in
the sun. You can see their menu here. Just across the Intracoastal
Waterway (or over the bridge) is the Holiday Harbor Marina
which has a small
restaurant, gas for your boat, fishing & boat
rentals/charters, and a small golf course (approximately
20 in area).
There are countless other activities, not to mention
fishing on our private dock. There are other fishing
opportunities close by, and various shops.
Families or those on the go there is Burger King, Sonic,
Domino's Pizza, Triggers Seafood
Restaurant (serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and
is about 1 mile from the house). If finer dining is more
what you are looking for, there is the Oyster Bar, Crab
Trap, Lillian's Pan Pizza, The Reef, and other fine
dining of Perdido Key are within 5 miles. Winn-Dixie,
Wal-Mart, the Post Office and Library, Perdido Kids Play
Park (free admission), Gray's Tackle and Guide Service,
are all within a 2 mile radius of us.
Access to the Gulf Islands National Seashore is only one
mile from the house by way of Old River Road. The website

Johnson Beach is within 5 road miles (less than a mile by
the way the bird flies), or within 15 minutes or less on a
wave runner or a boat from our beach. It is located on the
Gulf Islands National Seashore. It has covered and open
picnic areas, restrooms, showers and offers swimming on the
Gulf or the Intracoastal Water side of the seashore.
Big Lagoon State
Park is
also nearby. Explore the ruins of Fort McRee on the tip
of the National Seashore. Access to Johnson
Beach/National Seashore by boat or wave runner doesn't
cost a thing. If driving, the fee is $8 per day per car
or $25 for a season pass.
The National Museum of Naval Aviation (free admission) is
within 5 miles. There is everything from airplanes made in
the early 1900's to the space shuttle. You can eat at the
Cubi Bar Cafe, go to the kids fun area , try your skills
out in the Top Gun air combat simulators, go to the IMAX
theater, take a guided tour, or just look around. The
Pensacola Naval Air Station is the home of the famous Blue
Angels. And of course, the Blue Angels (The Navy Precision
